Philippines Trip Day 2
Day 2
beach day! Almalin beach resort. Time for some relaxation and what we do best, cooked food ALL day.
Rented a kayak for 500 pesos (about $10) for the whole day – something I never got to do, especially in another country at that. Thoughts of “when animals attack” big sharks, whales, or some random seal come out n eat me or something – ha!
Aside from that, it was totally nothing like that…waters were calm and was able to kayak several hundreds of feet away.
Chilled on the beach and got to totally veg out. I LOVE it when time allows you to rest your mind & spirit. As I sat on the beach I watched many little crabs burrying holes and hiding in them, they were as big as the tip of a pinky finger. Continued to watch fishermans throw out their fishing nets, and pull’em back in but unfortunately they were not able to catch many but im sure it was good enough for them.
The water was just right, not to cold and not too warm (CANNONBALL!) it was awesome to just lay on the sand and allow the grains to flow through my feet. I had lots of time to just look out to the dagat (sea) and enjoy all the natural sounds, light ocean waves, cool breeze, and the smell of ocean water. As time went by cousin and I got creative, found a loose coconut leaf, which is basically the same as palm tree leaves. Made a head piece, and we wove a sheet of it. Talk about retouchin’ my roots haha
Mountains to the right, tons of coconut trees and from a far you can see another island. Once cousin and I got far enough, we stopped paddling and just sat on the kayak and enjoyed the views. Breathing in and out deeply, embracing the land and water that surrounds us.
I gave thanks again, for something that I know I will not see in a long time again. the day again was an abundance of good food, good company, and always lots of laughs!
From morning til night, that’s how we DO!
